First 50 page update

The story I am the Messenger begins with Ed Kennedy, a 19 year old cab driver who enjoys playing cards and drinking with his friends Marv, Richie, and Audrey. He feels like the useless child in his family and lives alone with his dog, The Doorman (who enjoys drinking coffee). Ed is in love with Audrey, but she doesn't feel the same way. He and his friends are in a bank that is robbed. The incompetent robber runs away and drops the gun. Ed grabs the gun and catches the robber.The guy only gets six months for the robbery. After the robbery, Ed gets a playing card, the Ace of Diamonds, in his mail. It has three addresses on it. Ed goes to the first house. There, Ed finds a women and girl who are abused by an alcoholic husband. At the second house, he finds an old women who is alone. Ed knows that he has to help these people in some way.
